Gamifying children’s physical and mental health education.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, schools and parents worldwide found themselves struggling to support the mental and physical well-being of their children. Bond approached me to create a gamified platform to guide children through a variety of skills and encourage continued usage. What developed was two sites — one for educators and one for parents — a children’s learning platform, and a clear vision of the future.

First up was the design of the game experience itself. What kinds of interactions would be suitable for users aged 5-10? What interfaces are familiar and easy to navigate? Through market research, I modeled some of the patterns after best-in-class practices set by organizations such as PBS Kids. The character design and overall interface design of the children’s platform made my inner child so delighted.
